Owner, Mario Grimaldi is busy organising the final touches on the refurbishment of the recently renovated premises that was the old Bodega Restaurant.
Over the past 12 months the restaurant has been transformed into a remarkable licensed cafè restaurant and function centre.
Italian born and raised, Mario and his family come from Napoli, the birthplace of pizza. His passion for food and family was cultivated at an early age. With such rich family heritage and a deep connection between food and contentment Mario said it was a natural progression for him to become a chef.
Mario now treasures all of his family recipes and follows the traditional method of cooking everything from scratch. He said this dedication to wholesome food made from fresh and tasty produce ensured his menu gave diners an authentic Italian experience.
Casa Mia make their own Mozzarella and Italian sausages, Italian Piadina breads (Tapis), pizza bases, pasta and sauces – essentially everything is made on location to order. Even the desserts including ricotta cheese cakes, tiramisu and the crowd pleasing rich chocolate mud cake are based on family recipes.
Mario says the combination of relaxed ambience, alfresco dining and good food will allow more people to reconnect over the shared love of food.
“We offer families and friends a place to relax and enjoy each other’s company, to talk and laugh and be happy together,” he said.
“We have five function room options and can cater for groups and weddings from as few as eight people through to 400 guests,” he said.
All you can eat banquets start at $25 per person and custom menus can be developed for any event or wedding.
