Mumma D’s famous gourmet cupcakes, renowned as tasty treats, will soon take up permanent residence in Ipswich City Square.
Janine Daly, baker of the tasty cupcakes, is a regular feature of the ever growing monthly Food Trucks in the Mall event.
Her creations, which include vegan and gluten free options, are devoured on-mass at the food truck events, with more than 950 cupcakes sold at the last event.
Top of the list in the gourmet range is Salted Caramel, with it’s oozy caramel centre. The Snickers Cupcake is also a firm favourite, which includes a puree chocolate bar. Then there’s the famous Choc Mint Peppermint Cupcake with it’s rich chocolate centre and peppermint infused icing.
All these mouthwatering creations go faster than Janine can get them on plates.
Janine said opening for business in the Mall will be the “realisation of a dream” and that the CBD location was the perfect fit for her business she started five years ago in the family kitchen.
“Ipswich still has a strong sense of community, and as a business with an ethos built on old fashioned values I admire the fact that my customers are friendly, respectful and family based,” Janine said.
Mother of eight children, Janine knows all about cooking for a crowd. She said the business started when her youngest child began school and her husband suggested she start selling her creations.
“It just took off, and now with the expansion into a permanent premise my son Duccari can now help out in store.”
Janine remembers her first weeks of business and the two dozen muffins she sold door to door to local business. Today the list of services includes high tea, custom wedding cakes and more than 1000 plus gourmet cupcakes to private events.
