Do you cringe at phrases like “build this yourself” or “flat pack” but are in desperate need of sprucing up your home? Well, we have found a few solutions – even for the laziest of renovators.
Koala Mattresses
If it’s time for a new mattress, but the thought of trawling through showrooms, dealing with the same old sales pitches and getting the damn thing delivered is giving you hives, look no further than the Koala Mattress. Why? This product is for the ultimate lazy person: order it online, have it within four hours (for metro areas only), and receive your new mattress in a box YES, a box, which will self unravel after you take it out. That’s right, no more manoeuvring your new mattress up a flight of stairs with difficulty – the ultimate lazy approach to new bedding.
JOYNT Furniture
Need a new stool, table, shelf or even light fixtures but really can’t be bothered to scramble around for that allen key? JOYNT is the brain child of Tonic Design Studio – a collection of custom-made plywood pieces that are easily delivered in a flat pack, ready to construct, and quickly formed by hand. By purchasing their products, you’re also supporting a Brisbane based company – win win!
Lazy Kmart/Target/Big W Hacking
What we love about this idea is not only the ease of it, but the affordability too. There is a plethora of resources on the internet, so don’t limit yourself to our ideas! PS. Who said being lazy means you can’t get creative, too?
Turn a basket into a table
No screwdrivers required for this nifty hack. Purchase a wire basket from your favourite shop (extra lazy points if it doesn’t have handles) and glue a placemat/circular wooden board on top to create a fabulous bedside table!
Using a stool as a side table.
If gluing a cork placemat to a basket was way too much effort, you can always browse their range of single stools and use them as a side table instead!
Step stool as a toddler table.
If you don’t want to hunt down (or put together) a table for your toddler to eat at, use a step stool by having your child sit on the lower step and using the top step as the table.
Simple!
