OPEN DAY SATURDAY 11 MARCH, 9am-1pm

Ipswich Girls’ and Junior Grammar School invites you to their Open Day on Saturday, 11 March, 9.00AM – 1.00PM. The annual Open Day offers prospective parents, and the local and greater Queensland community, the chance to see what opportunities the School provides for boys, girls and young women to become their best.

Choosing the right school for your children can be a daunting task which is why Ipswich Girls’ and Junior Grammar School wants you to come and talk to their staff about what is most important to you when it comes to educating your child.

During the day, parents will be able to take advantage of a special Open Day offer of half price application fees and a complimentary set of uniforms for all new enrolments on the day – a benefit worth up to $350.

From 9am on Saturday March 11, the gates to the historic School grounds will open to the public and visitors will be able to access all areas of the Early Education Centre (co-educational Kindy and Pre-Prep program for three and four-year-olds), Junior Grammar School (boys and girls from Prep to Year 6) and Girls’ Grammar School (girls only, Year 7 to Year 12).

The School’s reputation speaks for itself – Ipswich Girls’ and Junior Grammar School students consistently achieve some of the highest NAPLAN results in the region. Positive, personalised learning programs are developed for each student, while excellent resources and facilities complement the learning experience. Dedicated and talented teachers instil confidence and excellence in their students, and encourage them to be the best they can be.

“At Ipswich Girls’ and Junior Grammar School we have a reputation for academic excellence,” said Principal, Dr Peter Britton.

“However, this is just one component of the holistic education our School provides to students as we prepare them to become confident, well-educated young women, girls and boys.”

“Nurturing students’ personal best in all areas of their education to enable them to succeed in life beyond school is just as important as developing each student’s academic potential.

“Visitors to our Open Day will see what sets us apart academically but also our first-class learning environments, excellent pastoral care, community service and co-curricular programs,” Dr Britton said.

Current students will host tours of the School’s facilities, such as the KCC Lecture Theatre, libraries, science laboratories, Bright Sparks Workshop, Outside School Hours Care, swimming pool, sports complex, Fitness Centre and Human Movement Laboratory and Performing Arts Centre. Families will also have the chance to meet with the School’s senior staff and teachers who will outline how the School’s personalised approach to education and cutting-edge learning technology can benefit their child.

There will be student displays and demonstrations including experiments in state-of-the-art science classrooms, robotics in the dedicated E-STEAM (Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) workshop, debates, fundraising activities, musical numbers, sporting matches and much more.

The Open Day will have a carnival atmosphere with food and drink stalls and free amusement rides for the kids.

Come along to the Open Day on Saturday March 11, from 9am to 1pm. Register your interest to be in the running to win a mini-iPad on the day.
