With so much to see and do in Deebing Heights, it’s little wonder the population has increased by 488% in just five years. After reading this, you just might want to to move on in to this thriving urban community.

From a rustic past of grazing farmland and acreage homesites, Deebing Heights has experienced stellar growth in the past few years and is now a thriving urban community dominated by new homes. The population has exploded from just 344 people recorded in the 2011 Census, to 2,023 in the 2016 Census – an increase of 488% in just five years!

Deebing Heights covers an area of 10.5 square kilometres, and is characterised by new homes, new roads and modern infrastructure such as underground power and NBN access.

The precinct between the Centenary Highway and Cunningham Highway to the north is the most developed so far, with more land developments underway south of the Centenary Highway, including acreage home sites.

With all this development, further growth is anticipated. The new Deebing Heights State School on Rawlings Road opened in 2016, and is designed to accommodate 1,000 students by 2026. A new shopping centre has been approved off Grampian Drive, and a rail line is proposed with a train station to be located near the Centenary Highway/Grampian Drive roundabout.

The Deebing Heights population is dominated by families with children, who represent two-thirds of households. 67 per cent of the population is aged under 40 years, with a third of the population represented by children/youths aged up to 19 years. So this is a suburb that is young at heart.

Located just 6 kms from the Ipswich CBD, 8 kms from RAAF Amberley, and a 20-minute drive to Springfield, Deebing Heights enjoys a convenient position close to major employment and shopping destinations, including the Yamanto Shopping Centre nearby.

Residents still enjoy a tranquil lifestyle with the convenience of local parks and a pony club on Grampian Drive.
