Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale has announced plans for an exciting new attraction in the heart of Ipswich CBD. Designs for a world-class lagoon pool concept are underway to feature on the vacant railway land of Ellenborough and Bremer Street.
Cr Pisasale has been working with Ipswich City Properties and development partner epc.Pacific to crystalyse his vision. After looking to the best cities in the world for inspiration, the mayor wants to embrace the river and create a destination where families can come and enjoy Ipswich.
The lagoon will be raised up so it is on the same level as the retail shops, cafes and restaurants. This will provide opportunities for so many local businesses.
“Ipswich City’s progress has been done in stages, Riverlink was one of those stages and the lagoon will be a vital stage in turning the City around. Absolutely no heritage will be lost in the process”
After the huge success of Orion lagoon and taking the publics feedback into consideration it is agreed that a water feature would benefit Ipswich immensely. Encouraging local families and those in surrounding areas to come and spend the day enjoying the city.
