There really is nothing like the Channel Seven Ipswich Cup.
It’s more than a major horse race, which it is, but it’s also the premier social event of the year for the greater Ipswich region.
Established in 1866, the Ipswich Cup attracts over 20,000 racegoers who converge on the Ipswich Turf Club to enjoy in the day’s racing and entertainment. Whether it’s the horses, the fashions on the field, DJ festival or just catching up with old friends, the Ipswich Cup is the event not to be missed.
Channel Seven has been a partner of the Ipswich Cup for a decade and this year will once again be supporting the popular event.
“It’s an honour for Channel Seven this partnership and to have sponsored this particular racing event,” news presenter Sharyn Ghidella said.
“It’s a huge racing event on the calendar and we love being involved in it.”
Take your pick of the many hospitality package options available including private and general marquees trackside, the infield festival party featuring top DJ Mashd N Kutcher or general admission.

Fashions on the Field
Fashion and horses go hand in hand and the ladies and gals love to don their favourite raceday outfits for the Channel Seven Ipswich Cup each year.
Local resident and one of the stars in the promotion for this year’s Channel Seven Ipswich Cup, Natalie Zielke, has a true zest for racing although her passion may more be in the frocks and fascinators than the fillies and fast times.
The 29-year-old and first-time mum has a real talent to making her fashion pieces unique but has a few simple tips to enjoy your day at the races.
• Always wear something you feel comfortable in. Being confident in what you wear always catches a judge’s eye.
• Closed in shoes.
• Darker colours.
• If it’s cool, wear stockings and/or a jacket.
• No strapless dresses and preferably cover your shoulders.
• Head piece – go for felts and leathers and steer clear of bows and headbands (they’re more Spring/Summer fashion).
