John and Michelle Challen run the successful Cold Rock business on the ground floor of the GE Building next to the Orion lagoon. They employ 13 staff, all of whom are young and enthusiastic.

The ice cream destination stocks 26 different flavours with an array of fruit and lollies that are smashed into your ice cream once chosen. There are delicious shakes, sundaes and banana splits to choose from too.

In the six months since they opened Cold Rock has provided huge community support, making significant donations to organisations such as the Christmas Carols, Springfield Anglican College and Springfield Central State School. They are also a major sponsor of the Springfield United Soccer Club.

With a constant focus on their customers and their community it’s no wonder the Cold Rock is bigger and better than ever. It’s the perfect place to visit next time you’re at the Lagoon or in Springfield and need an ice cream fix.
