Open Day Saturday 26 August, From 9.00am

St Peters Lutheran College Springfield K – Yr 12 invites you to attend Open Day on Saturday 26 August, 9.00 am – 12.00 noon. Prospective families have the opportunity to meet staff and students, to see the College facilities and to understand how joining the St Peters community can benefit them.

As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, St Peters Lutheran College Springfield are extremely proud of what we are able to offer prospective families. A modern co-educational school, we offer a welcoming, lively and friendly environment. St Peters is concerned with the needs of individual students with a focus on the pastoral, academic, physical and spiritual dimensions, and special attention on the whole child. At St Peters, we have a diverse student body and encourage student enrolment applications from a wide range of backgrounds.

St Peters is proud to offer our students comprehensive academic, sports and music programs as well as encouraging their personal development. Our unique outdoor education and agricultural program for our Year 9 students at Ironbark provides a truly memorable and transformative experience for this cohort.

The College has experienced substantial yet planned growth since we commenced in 2008, and now has over 520 students from Prep – Year 12. The addition of our Kindergarten has enhanced our College offerings. At the heart of the College are the two expectations of all St Peters students:

– to live by our motto of ‘Plus Ultra’ (Ever Higher), and
– to treat all members of the St Peters’ community according to our three core values: with care, dignity and respect.

Actively engaging students in these traditional school values, combined with a nimble approach to learning advancement and innovation has created a dynamic culture that embraces change. This is evident with our focus upon Digital Technology (Coding) where students from Prep – Year 12 have access to programs, equipment and extra-curricular learning opportunities in this field.

Investments made in 3D printing machinery, OSMO coding devices and Robotic Mice assist our students to become confident users of the latest technology.

Coding experience allows students to create digital solutions to problems which we believe will be an essential skill for the future as jobs around the world become increasingly more digitised.

The College was fortunate to receive a visit recently from the very first student to enrol at St Peters Springfield, Alexis Arriagada-Malone. Alexis is now at QUT studying engineering, with a major focus on mechatronics.

Students in Year 9 will enter the Young Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Explorers competition for the first time in 2017. This competition encourages students to develop a technology related project, and promotes creativity and ingenuity. We are excited at the projects underway, congratulate them on their efforts, and we look forward to their submissions and results later this year.

The College is accessible through a wide range of transport options for students to travel to and from our school, including close proximity to the train, the St Peters bus service to and from Greenbank, and a comprehensive bus service from another provider.

The College is committed to working with our students to realise their full potential, we encourage you to experience for yourself our special community atmosphere by attending our next Open Day on Saturday 26 August.
