If Debby Ryan’s sweet, smiling face looks familiar, it’s probably because she is a former Disney Queen.

Starring on shows and movies like The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverley Place and 16 Wishes, the 25 year old actress is leaving her good girl image behind to star in Netflix’s Insatiable – a series that focuses on Patty (Ryan), a former ‘fat’ girl who is out to seek revenge.

While the show has received criticism for a variety of reasons, Ryan has responded to the haters, saying: “The humour is not in the fat-shaming.. the redemption is in identifying the bullies and saying ‘this is not okay.’”

The actress went on to say the show will “turn a sharp eye on broken, harmful systems that equate thinness with worth.” Away from her acting career, Debby has always taken an interest in fashion.

Having her own fashion show titled “Ryan Style”and always looking ‘killer’ on the street or on the red carpet, Ryan is proving she’s much more than the ‘girl next door’ from her Disney days.
