Ex Rugby League player and Footy Show favourite, Beau Ryan is currently in Ipswich for his regular segment ‘Beau Knows’ and also a brand new segment airing live on the channel 9 Footy Show tonight called ‘The Beau Show’, where he visits Leagues clubs in heartland towns around QLD and NSW to showcase the club, the town and meet the fans. Ipswich was chosen for the very first segment because of its huge Rugby League focus and the fact it is home of the NRL State champions, The Ipswich Jets.
Growing up in Wollongong NSW, Beau can’t remember a time where he didn’t have a footy in his hand. Playing since the age of seven and falling in love with the sport, he played his first professional game in 2007 where he had an amazing career playing for the West Tigers until 2012. He went on to play for the Cronulla Sharks until 2014 when he retired due to a serious neck injury.
Always a regular on the Footy show during his career, he became a permanent fixture after announcing his retirement from the NRL. The loveable, and let’s face it, easy on the eye character has a way with engaging with the fans and making people laugh.
Appearing at the Ipswich Corporate Centre tonight from 5pm with Eric Grothe, who also played for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. It will be an exciting evening for Footy show and Ipswich Jets fans, featuring Beau’s new and regular segments, as well as the ‘Love in the Club’ feature where single fans will be match-made with other single fans, people have been told to bring along their oldest living relative to meet him for the ‘Show Beau’ feature, all during live crosses to the Channel 9 studio.
Don’t forget to tune in tonight to The Footy Show at 8.30pm on Channel 9 and if you managed to get a ticket for the event and are taking photos, don’t forget to use the hashtag #beauknowsipswich
