If a bathroom renovation is on the cards for 2018, you might want to peruse our tiling style guide – (hint: it doesn’t include Subway tiling!)

Penny round tiles:

You might be thinking, “penny round tiles? Those old things?” and while yes, you’re right, they’re back – but better than ever. In smaller bathrooms in particular, a simple white penny round tile can actually make the room appear larger and brighter – meaning people are now going floor to ceiling with the inexpensive tile. We personally love the tile in a moss-green – it reminds us of simpler times!

Terracotta tiling:

No, we haven’t gone mad.. but the terracotta tiles are making a resurgence in the bathroom. They can inject a natural, rustic tone to the home by bringing an instant warmth and comfort to a space. We think this tile is best kept for older homes that are decked out in a minimalist, bohemian fashion.

Parquet pattern:

Okay, so it turns out the Subway tile is still getting a mention, but it seems people just won’t let go of this somewhat ‘overdone’ trend. By fashioning the subway tile in a parquet pattern (that is two tiles horizontal by two tiles vertical and so on), you’ll spice up the bathroom with a high end look, minus the expensive price tag.

Black on black:

Using black tiles with a matching black grout is the perfect combination for a sleek and modern space that will require minimal effort when scrubbing the grout! The best part?

This trend looks great either in the bathroom, kitchen or even around a fireplace.

Au Naturale:

Using a realistic stone effect, tile design allows you to create a serene ambient bathroom.. perfect for unwinding in the tub after a stressful day in the office!
