Wouldn’t it be nice to ring in the new year, knowing you’ve won a barbecue, outdoor setting or a backyard makeover? Well, for three of LQ’s readers, this dream has become a reality after winning one of the major prizes in our Operation: Fix It! competition.
Here’s the rundown on who won what in the competition.
Peter Weir $3,000 Backyard Makeover
Leanne Wheeler, the winner of the backyard makeover, courtesy of Peter Weier Landscape & Sprinkler, answered our winning phone call while she was in the middle of a shopping centre.
“I can’t scream right now because I’m in public,” she joked.
“I’m going to tell my husband that I’ve come up with a solution to fix our backyard and that’ll cost $3000… he’ll be angry until I tell him we get it done for free!”
Harvey Norman 8-Seat Outdoor Setting
Natalie Thornely, the winner of the outdoor setting from Harvey Norman couldn’t believe they actually won a competition – and neither could her kids or her husband.
“I guess it enables us to enjoy summer dinners outside and it’s something we wouldn’t probably buy for ourselves.. something like this,” Natalie said.
“It’s just a lovely family thing to all enjoy together.
“[Entering competitions] is not something I’ve done a lot of so it was really exciting to win.. it was totally out of my mind so it was really exciting to get the phone call saying I’d won.”
Outdoor Living Jindalee FamilyQ Weber Barbecue
Lucky winner of the Weber Family Q from Outdoor Living Jindalee was Amy Mack, who said the win was a welcomed surprise after just graduating university.
“I think my boyfriend is more excited than me but we’re both very happy to have won,” she said.
